Rape Women, girls, men, and boys are vulnerable victims of sexual assaults every day in our country. While females experience much higher rates of sexual assaults than males. The problem that this country faces is the lack of being able to track rapist, in addition to the victims that chose not to report their assault of being raped to the police. Issues of under reporting comes from the victims with multiple reasons that hinders them from reporting these heinous criminal acts. Thus, the sad realization is that the perpetrator is usually some one that you know, that you would of never of thought that they could and would, and do sexually assault you. Rape The definition of rape has changed since 1927, with the new nationwide definition from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report (UCR), the Office of the Attorney General states that, â€Å"the penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim.† The definition or rape has not changed since 1927. In 2012, under this new definition, it gives a larger definition as to what facilitates the nature of rape, this includes men as well as women; notwithstanding the victims age of being unable to consent, including the victim’s mental capacity, or being in an incapacitated state due to ingestion of drugs or alcohol (U.S. Department of Justice, 2014). Montessori Sensorial Education Essay Sensorial education begins the mionte a baby is born. He receives impressions through his senses. Mria Montessori believed that there was nothing in the intellect that did not first exist in the senses and the first of the childs organs that begin to function are the senses. During the forst thress years of a child life all the impressions received from the childs environment are stored in the unconscious memeory, The â€Å"mneme† A young child receives and perceives everything, both positive and negative and these impressions are stored. A child between two and six years passes through the ‘ sensitive period for the refinement of the senses’. From the ages of Three to six the sensorial impressions tha child received are educated thorugh the Montessori sensorial materials in the prepared environment. Should the impressions remain as is and not be educated, they will remain a scramble in the childs brain. The child is driven to gains all the sensorial impressions by his inner teacher. This drive and the sensitive periods enable the child to absorb all the impressions around him. The sensitive periods are an internal aid that help the child catagorise, utelise and inetrnalise the sensorial impressions. A child learns with an unconscious effort between the ages of borth to three,. The mneme is driven by the ‘horme. The child receives all the impressions of his expierences, they enter his mind and become part of him. Fomr the age of birth to six, is the main period of sensory exploration for a child. The sensorial impressions a child receives are not the same as sensorial education. Sensorial education takes place when the child receives the knowledge to catagorise and use his impressions. Intelligence is built upon by exierences and though process and the development of the intellect is dependent on interaction and contact with environment though his sense. The aim of sensorial education is to allow the child to use his enses to understyand what heor she sees or expierences. It is a refinement fo the sense moving from simple to complex building displin and concentration and the child becomes an active participant in his own education. The sensorial equipment becomes a starting block to the other areas of the curriculum in the prepared environment. They lay a groundwork and help classify impressions that have up until now just been stored in the mneme. The materials are concrete, graded and sequenced. The materials help develop intellect and order the mind needed for learning. The child trains ans refines his senses when working with the materials. He is ordering his mins and all the impressions he has reccibed are being educated. This education does not shrpen the sense but allows the child to use his senses to understand what he sees. The child gets to name his senses. Through sensorial education, we isolate each snese he has received through impressions. As a child works further, he learns about the concepts of size, colour, weight, quality etc. When the differences are clear, names are introduced. There si an order and sequence to the materials presented. The senosrila materials are to enlarge a child field of preceotion. The excersizes were designmed to cover every quality that can be peecieved by the senses. The prepared a solid foundation for the child to develop his intellect. The mterials stimulate the childsnatural inquisitive nature and educate at the same time by refining his senses. They aim to establish order in the mind of the child, developing intelligence, confidence and independence. A foundation for future education and learning is provided. In working with the materials the child is able to prepare himself to function in the neviroment and appreciate it. The breians operception is improved and movement refined. MARINE BIOLOGISTS Perhaps one of the most important administrations in the world is the Nation Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, more commonly referred to as the NOAA. It was established in 1970. There are 400 officers in the program and over 12,000 employees. This organization helps the career of Marine Biology and promotes its well being. Welcome to the wonderful world of Marine Biology. Marine Biology starts when there is pollution in the water and then they take samples of the water and sea weed, algae, microscopic organisms, fish, and large sea mammals. Then they examine them and try to analyze the cause of the pollution to the fullest extent and try to come up with a verdict on what the pollution is resulting from. Marine Biologists also warn us of dangerous weather such as hurricanes, floods and cyclones. Marine biology is also when the Biologists watch the animals reproduce and see if they can get other animals to reproduce and see what they can do with what happens. A Marine Biologist can make around $60,000 as an annual salary. In a typical day, they usually take their studies to the lab and do research on it. The involvement of science comes from the study of seaweed and its habitats and the fish, what they eat, where they go, and how they reproduce. They also look at the sea mammals and where they move, they also see how whales and other mammals reproduce. To be a Marine Biologist, you need a B.A. and a M.S. or you need 4 years of college, and you need to have experience or live by a large body of water. I would like to do it because I like the water. I am also good with animals, and I like marine animals such as whales and adore tropical fish. I would also enjoy working in labs with fish, seaweed, and sea mammals. I think it would be fun to have a whale and watch it reproduce, or to have an eel and a sting ray and watch them reproduce. I would also take two sorts of sea weed and try to make a different sort of sea weed. To be a Marine Biologist, you need to be smart and have to have some experience with the ocean or a body of water. It also takes a while to go through 4 years of college. Also you have to go through all the special courses required to be a Marine Biologist. The good thing is you get to go scuba diving and explore the oceans bottom, and you get to see all of the beautiful marine wildlife and fish. That is my report on what a Marine Biologist is. What they do in a typical day, what their salary is, what degree they need to be a Marine Biologist, how it is involved in science and why I would like to do it and why others would like to, too.
